The History of Morrisville, NC
Morrisville, NC was named after Jeremiah Morris in 1852 after he donated land in the area to the North Carolina Railroad. The town was the location of a skirmish during the American Civil War in what became known as the Battle of Morrisville.
In 1875 the town of Morrisville received its official charter but in 1933 it was disincorporated. The charter was reestablished in 1947.
